About Udaan

Illiteracy is the root cause of all evils. Project Udaan is an initiative of Rotary Club of Kolkata Mahanagar and Nopany 92, to provide funds for the education of children who have dreams of pursuing quality education but have no means to fulfill them. Only after a thorough background check, the Udaan Committee takes the decision to support the needy children who dropped out of schools due to financial crisis faced by their families. Udaan makes a sincere attempt to provide wings to the dreams of such needy children. However, we provide only after carefully evaluating and screening.

Gracious Donors

Donors are people with a ‘golden heart’. Udaan feels privileged to have such gracious donors who are kind, thoughtful and indulgent to support the education of underprivileged children, who wish for education but are pulled back by financial limitations.

Children of Udaan

Raju, the son of a Driver had to drop out of school at the age of 10. He was only in Class IV. He worked in a tea stall for 2 years, but fate had other plans for him. He was noticed by a noble man, who contacted Udaan to help Raju! Today, Raju’s educational responsibility has been taken up by Udaan and he is doing really well in academics.

Rani was a bright student but had to drop out when his father died. Her father’s employer was deeply hurt seeing the situation and contacted Udaan. We decided to financially help Rani complete her education. She is one of the brightest students we have today!

Working as a domestic help, Rashmi was often beaten up for small mistakes. The neighbor knew that the girl was forced to leave school and work for financial difficulties. They called up Udaan and we helped Rashmi go to school again. She is a fast learner and a jolly kid!

Satish wanted to make it big in life, but his poverty made him work day and night in a small Dhaba. The Dhaba owner had pity on him and gave a call to Udaan. Satish was in tears when we offered to support his education.
